Scenario:
You are happily walking with your partner to the store, things could not be more perfect. You tell your partner about a class you had, “child development,” but you accidentally mispronounce the word ‘development.’ Your partner begins laughing and mentions, “oh my god, you're such a stupid dummy,” with a serious tone. You laugh it off, but later when you go to a family dinner together, you are talking and mispronounce another word. This time instead of calling you a dummy, your partner curses you out in front of your family and tells you all your faults and mistakes, and also mentions to your family, “why are they such an idiot?” As this month begins, it is known, for the month of may to be teen pregnancy prevention month. I wanted to take a moment to explain why we are even mentioning this. I, as you might remember, want to be an OB/GYN, I love the cycle of pregnancy and I am not opposed to pregnancy, I just personally believe that pregnancy is a phase in life that should be planned, because a baby is not a toy. They need care and parents should be mature enough to be able to provide for and take care of their child.
Teen pregnancy is something that can be avoided (if you want to avoid it). Our website contains information about birth control and how unwanted or unplanned pregnancies can be avoided. The following websites also contain information about this topic: http://www.teensource.org/birth-control https://www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/birth-control However, because I am not opposed to pregnancy, the following are help centers for young moms. https://californialatinas.org/our-work/justice-for-young-families/ https://www.teenoutreachaz.org/teen-service/teenage-pregnancy-parenting-support-gro -Cynthia Hernandez This link will lead you to a mini Quiz that will tell you if your parents are ready to have "The Talk" with you and also give you some tips along the way.
