Scenario:
You are happily walking with your partner to the store, things could not be more perfect. You tell your partner about a class you had, “child development,” but you accidentally mispronounce the word ‘development.’ Your partner begins laughing and mentions, “oh my god, you're such a stupid dummy,” with a serious tone. You laugh it off, but later when you go to a family dinner together, you are talking and mispronounce another word. This time instead of calling you a dummy, your partner curses you out in front of your family and tells you all your faults and mistakes, and also mentions to your family, “why are they such an idiot?”

When people go through verbal abuse, they think their partner is playing around and laugh it off. They do not notice the signs. There is a difference between playing around and constant degrading and bullying. A constant degrading is considered verbal abuse, but if during the moment you BOTH truly laugh at the situation, it is a fun and silly moment.
Signs of a verbally abusive relationship
  1. Constant Criticism
  2. Name Calling
  3. Mind Games
  4. Humiliation
  5. Guilt Trips
  6. Secret Telling
  7. Insulting heritage or family
A healthy relationship would consist of:
  1. Encouragement
  2. Compliments
  3. Comfort
  4. Safety
Make sure you stay safe and happy guys
